Fundraising

We can only do all we do because of the generous support of many people and organisations. We continually need to raise funds to maintain and develop our work and currently our director, Stuart is taking on 50 challenges over 50 months, finishing on his 50th birthday, aiming to raise £50,000

Young People

We provide a wide range of activities for hundreds of young people but our aim is to do more than just that but to make a positive difference to each one. This might be in terms of improved behaviour or attitude, increased self esteem or confidence, new skills or aspiration.

Zac’s is an independent Christian Charity, which aims to offer care and support to young people and provide a meeting place free from alcohol and other harmful influences.

What's On

A huge programme of activities for young people aged 11 -18 (up to 25 for those with special needs). Choose from sports, after school clubs, one to one support and much much more.

Our Activities

First and foremost our programme of activities is designed and planned to be fun and enjoyable. Over and above this however, we work to ensure that we also support the personal development of the young people who take part.

Fundraising

We are always looking for people to help us with the vital fundraising which keeps Zac’s “going and growing”.  You could host a coffee morning or dinner party or maybe climb Kilimanjaro or run a marathon. Why not use your skills or take on a challenge and fulfil an ambition to help us raise funds
We do all we can to generate our own funds and to work as cost effectively as possible but with increasing demand and decreasing support any contribution you can give will both, help us make a difference and gratefully received.
Why not consider being part of the answer! If you are local could you volunteer, even an hour per month. We don’t just need people to work with the young people but also those who can help with practical tasks, driving, cooking etc.
Each year we give up to 8 people the chance to be part of the team at Zac’s, working across all of our activities, gaining invaluable experience. As well as making a difference to the young people, participants will benefit from free accommodation, free local bus travel, a weekly allowance and a comprehensive training package.

Why Support Us!

In the year to 30th September 2012 the number of different young people we worked with increased 42% to 1,270.

In the same period average attendance each week also increased, by 44%

But, income fell by 10% leaving a big gap to fill!

Never have we needed your support more, whatever you can give; a one off donation, a monthly gift, an hour a week, an hour a month.

It all adds up!

To make a donation please visit our DONATION page.

About Us!

The Sycamore Project/Zac’s Youth Bar is a “smallish” charity punching above our weight on a daily basis to provide;

  • After school clubs
  • Sports, holiday activities
  • Issues and skills workshops
  • Mentoring
  • Street work
  • Mobile outreach bar
  • Sports, holiday activities
  • Support for disabled children

... and much more!

We are, however, much more than an activities provider, striving to make a positive and lasting difference to each young person whatever their situation, circumstances, or need.
