All about Zacs

Jasmines
For: Asian mothers and toddlers.
When: Wednesday Afternoons: 1 - 3 pm.

Jasmines, our group for Asian toddlers and their mothers is becoming increasingly popular. Recent events organised by the mothers included a family day and craft session held at Zacs, food hygiene and first aid workshops. The ladies are also keen on sewing and together with our volunteer Pat learn new skills and make clothes and other items.

The initiative has strengthened links with our local Asian community and helped to forge strong relationships with the local school, Urban Solutions and Bolton Lads and Girls Club.

Jiwani
For: Teenage Girls

This group is specifically for teenage girls who find it difficult to access social events and activities, many are unable to attend mixed sex group activities. The girls are able to take part in pool, dance activities, singing, craft and cookery, and allows them to build postive relationships with their peers.

Family Days
For: Members of the Asian Community

These days see members of both Jasmines and Jiwani as well as several other members of the community take part in trips to various attractions.

Zacs can help with...

Alcohol abuse

Our alcohol-free Youth bar provides an enjoyable alternative, plus we provide advise on the dangers of excessive drinking.

Drug abuse

We regularly run drug awareness workshops at Zacs. Smoking is banned in the building and is discouraged.

Anger

Frustrated teens get angry like anyone else. Our anger management classes have been very successful.

Relationships

When needed, we try to help children overcome trauma caused by family troubles.

Employment

We advise our older teens on employment options and help them prepare for job interviews.

Special Needs

Zac's provides a unique social venue for children with physical and/or learning difficulties.

The Law

If teenagers are in trouble with the law, we'll try to help them deal with any court cases in tandem with our efforts to reform their behaviour.
