The Archbishop of York was in the area to speak at the 100th anniersary of the laying of the foundation stone of Diocesan Church House in Manchester, when he took the opportunity to come and see the Project and meet with staff.

During his speech he highlighted the Hope not Hate anti-racism campaign, and speaking from 1 Corinthians 13 (the 'love' passage often used in weddings) He stated "We are made in the image of God, no matter our colour, culture or ethnicity" and encouraged listeners to turn enemies into friends and not friends into enemies.
